1819 O-110 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar

O-110 R3 is below, O-110a R3 at bottom
Finding this die marriage is tough above the XF grade. Few appear on the market and often draw a premium. There is a small handful of MS specimens with most being the later die state. Maybe combined this marriage falls into the R3 category, but surely it is more scarce than that, with the early die state being perhaps an R5. Problem free examples are even more tough to find.

Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 7 has three malformed and recut points toward edge and downward. Date is 8 3/4 mm., low and evenly spaced.

Reverse-50 C. is 2 mm. Arrow to A is 3/4 mm. I is centered under right side of T.  Bases of A2 and A3 nearly closed.

O-110a: Die crack top of UNITED, which extends around nearly the entire reverse contiguous to legend, arrowheads, etc.

NGC Graded AU55. Another original coin with golden gray luster throughout. This one has the "Look".
