1835 O-105 R1 Capped Bust Half Dollar

Obverse: 3
Reverse: D
Decent 1835's are not very common to begin with, and this R1 is not very common in grades above XF. There may be just a single MS65 at the top followed by a group of lower MS coins many of which have not appeared for sale in a long time. Problem free AU's seem to be tough and do not appear frequently.

Variety Attribution: Obverse-Stars mostly flat, star 8 is 3/4 mm. from cap.. Date 7 1/4 mm. and this obverse is easy to recognoize because 3 is straight up and even seems to lean a little to the right. Whereas 3 in most 1835's leans more to the left. 5 has a straight top and loop is nearly closed.

Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/2 mm. Arrow to A is slightly over 1 mm. Stand of E is centered under left side of D. The ridge defects between stripes are entirely different than the diagonal lines on reverse B. I entirely left of T. Line 3 of stripe 4 solid below shield. Second T in STATES above A and E at base.
