1827 O-121 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar

This marriage has a single MS65 which may be finest, then a small handful of other MS examples at the top of the census, but appearances above XF are seldom seen.

PCGS Graded AU55. Ex-Don Frederick. Don notes: Mid to early die state. Still has complete dentils oberse. Heritage notes:  Lightly flowlined but otherwise perfect dies. A remarkable, darkly toned AU, the Frederick specimen exhibits a combination of blue, green, lilac, and gold toning on each side.

Variety Attribution: Obverse-Date is a wide 8 1/2mm. and medium low, top of 2 is slightly lower than 187. All.stars are large, star 1 is usually flat and it is 1 1/2 mm. from drapery. Other stars are relatively sharp.

Reverse- 50 C. is a close 3/4 mm., with a large C and short curved top on 5. Arrowheads are large and the upper one is solidly attached to base of A.
