1823 O-108 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar
Reverse: B (Second Marriage)
This one may be slightly tougher than other R2's, but still may be had in higher grades if one is to be patient.
PCGS Graded AU53. Ex-Steve Nomura, from Sheridan Downey MBS 37, and he notes:
Similar toning to the previous lot, (a protective coat of even antique grey toning) completely natural and just a bit darker. The reverse is rotated about 10° counterclockwise, a curious and common occurrence during the era of bustcoinage. Soft luster throughout supports the AU designation.

Variety Attribution: O-108 : Obverse-Stars are large. Star 13 is 1/2 mm. from curl. Date is 8 mm. 23 is clearly larger than 18, with a 3 that is 2 mm. wide about 2 3/4 mm tall. The 3 has a very broad upper curl. O-108a: This variety is considered to have a re-worked 3. The 3 has been strengthened at back center and entire figure has become rough and irregular. There are now several die cracks. One from edge crosses stars 5, 6, and 7, and cap to milling above star 8. Another from top of 1 curves above date and joins stars on right up to star 9. A third crosses end of bust and joins stars 1 through 4.
Reverse- 50C is 21/4 mm. and low. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. Center dot between crossbars 4 and 5. Left side of T and right side of I in line. No inside right serif on A3. A1 and A2 have tiny serifs.
